2nd Conference on Bangladesh Energy Prosperity 2050

The 2nd Conference on Bangladesh Energy Prosperity 2050 (BEP 2050) was held from December 11 to 13, 2024, at the BIAM Foundation in Dhaka. This event served as a pivotal platform for fostering open dialogues among diverse stakeholders in Bangladesh’s energy and power sector.

As one of the co-organizers, the foundation contributed to the event’s success by facilitating discussions on sustainable energy pathways for Bangladesh.

The conference served as a platform for policymakers, energy experts, infrastructure developers, renewable energy promoters, financial institutions, academia, civil society, youths, local communities, and students to engage in dialogues aimed at achieving energy prosperity in Bangladesh by 2050. The conference brought together over 300 national and international representatives, including policymakers, energy experts, infrastructure developers, renewable energy promoters, financial institutions, academia, civil society, youths, local communities, and students.
Discussions centered on renewable energy, energy efficiency, innovative financing mechanisms, and pathways for a just, green, and equitable energy transition in Bangladesh.
Keynote speakers included government advisers, energy experts, and representatives from various organizations, who emphasized the importance of energy sovereignty, inclusive transition, and the need for better policies to attract foreign direct investment in the renewable energy sector.
The conference concluded with calls for enhanced policy coherence, institutional reforms, financial arrangements, and international cooperation to achieve Bangladesh’s goal of 40% renewable energy by 2041, thereby ensuring energy security and economic stability.
